Police Department Pay Schedule

All vacant positions at East Carolina University are advertised through Human Resources by going to their employment website East Carolina University Portal | Home (peopleadmin.com). The State of North Carolina utilizes the Career Banding pay plan for all SHRA, CSS AND DMSS employees where market rates have been established based on comparable positions in the outside market. The purpose of these market reference rates is to allow the state to be more competitive so that we may attract and retain outstanding talent. These rates have been established at the state level at the NC Office of State Human Resources and will be reviewed minimally every three (3) years to remain competitive with the outside market.

Minimum Starting Salaries

Public Safety Officer (Range $31,383 – $64,409)
Recruitment Range ($31,383 – $48,918)

Public Safety Telecommunicator (Range $31,200 – $45,923)
Recruitment Range ($31,200 – $41,620)
Telecommunicator positions at ECU are advertised at the Journey level
